Tom of Disputations writes that the reactions of people is "less a reflection on the Pope than it is on the selectors themselves."Very true. The statements by recent presidents were nothing if not predictable. Carter liked the Pope's desire for peace, Clinton liked the mercy, Bush the life issues. Of course we've been doing that with Jesus for 2,000 years too so the Pope's in good company. • • • • •
